Frankfurt 2006 - World Cup 1/4 Finals

We made our way to Frankfurt via Dubai to watch the WC 1/4 finals. The atmosphere was electric, people everywhere bore their chosen nations colours.... Our first game, Germany vs. Argentina.People packed the streets, every shop front televising the game. We cheered on the Germans from a pub packed with black, red and yellow flags, faces and hats....And what an intense game!!!! The germans proceeded through to the semis winning via penalty shoot-out.

We spent the following day glued to the tv.... after sightseeing that is!We watched the Brazil vs. France game on a tv screen hanging in a strip club window.... with the occassional brazilian cheerleaders (strippers) coming out for a peek (business must have been slow... go figure!)

The next day we departed for Poland.. in real backpacker style.... NOT! Our driver awaiting to whisk us to the airport in our stretch limo.....nice :-)

To our surprise the German airports are extremely unorganised and chaotic, or so it seemed anyway...

..and while on the topic let us mention the fact that smoking in this country is accepted everywhere...so walking through the airport we got plenty of passive smoke...ohh well...and the coffee here was horrible...but Raf didnt mind because they more then made up for it in the beer department....

anyways..
